The next Senatorial Convention will be held in 2016. The date and time will be determined by the Texas Republican Party and will be posted when available.
To the Senatorial District 17 Precinct Chairs, Thank you for electing me to serve as your temporary Senatorial District 17 Chairman. I am honored to have been elected and look forward to serving.

The Senatorial District Conventions meet all over Texas every 2 years. The primary purpose of these local county conventions is to select our Delegates and our Resolutions for the State of Texas Republican Convention. The SD-17 Convention will be held in the Spring of 2014.
It is an important position, one that requires a strong leader with knowledge in 3 areas:
1. You must know and understand the process.
I have served as SD Secretary at the last 2 SD Conventions held in Fort Bend County. In addition, I have previously chaired the Resolutions Committee twice, and have served on several other SD Committees over the years. I know the process.
2. You must have strong people skills.
Knowing the process is critical, but equally important is being able to select the right people for the right jobs. Committee Chairmen and Committee Members must be selected, and all the people that do all the work that is critical for a successful convention must be found and all their efforts coordinated. I am a manager, and I work with people all the time. I know how the get the job done through others.
3. You must be able to conduct the meeting correctly, and in the least amount of time.
The meetings are conducted using Roberts Rules of Order. Over the last 4 years I have served as Vice Chairman of the Fort Bend GOP. During that time I have conducted meetings of the Executive Committee in the Chairman’s absence, as well as conducting 2 meetings as County Chairman Pro-tem when selecting a new County Chairman when the former chairmen resigned.
In using Roberts Rules of Order, I am better than many, not as good as some, but I can conduct a good, orderly meeting, that is fair, respectful to all, and everyone that wants to be heard will be heard.
Additionally, I have some ideas that will speed up the process and get our business completed in a shorter time period.
In closing, I would like to say that my heart and my allegiance is to Fort Bend County. I stand with Chairman Mike Gibson to help him build, and bring new people into the party. By electing Republican men and women, we will continue to lift up Fort Bend County as the best place to live, to start a new business, and to raise a family in the State of Texas!
Sadly, our country has elected Obama for another 4 years. It is more important than ever to maintain our Strong, Conservative, Republican Party Leadership Team. We need you now, more than ever to help us reclaim our country and put us back on the right track. Now is not the time to be discouraged or to give up.

I have been active in the Republican Party and involved with Conservative issues for over 20 years, and am always willing to work with anyone that shares our common conservative values and goals of the Republican Party.
